About Tammy

Tammy is grateful to have raised her son and to live, work & play within the traditional unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples.

As member of the 2SLGBTQ+1 community, Tammy has also participated in neighbourhood groups like coaching minor league baseball and volunteering for Climate Action Groups. Currently an Instructor at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), Tammy understands the important role of affordable education in our society.

Tammy has always devoted time to volunteer or be on Boards for communities. Her background as a professional actor/writer/director on both stage and screen has seen her represent fellow members in her role as a National Councillor for the Canadian Actors’ Equity Association, as well as Co-Chair for the CAEA National Women’s Committee and is a member of the IATSE Women’s Committee.

Tammy also served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the non-profit organization Creative Women Workshops which founded the highly acclaimed “Women In The Director’s Chair” Workshop.

Communication is an integral part of Tammy’s livelihood and that is the key element she offers as a Federal NDP Candidate. She is determined to listen to people’s concerns and act on them using genuine collaboration along with NDP policies.
